Elderton Barossa CSM 2000

Bright clear red, no age showing. brambles on the front, then pepper and black berries/fruit and plum – but way too hot. Heat on the palate, the lovely savoury berries; it actually works – plums, blackcurrants, crisp apple and gooseberry (weird but true). Finish is short but balanced. Dusty, mellow, fruity, nice. It’s a good drink but nowhere near as good when last tasted. But, a few days later, another bottle was excellent so there appears to be a great deal of bottle variation.
