Church Road Tom McDonald Chardonnay 2006

Yellow gold with a hint of green. Mealy notes, ripe stonefruits, smoke and nuts; wonderful complex nose. Complexity on the palate too with primary stonefruit, malo and oak with secondary characters that reflect the nose: smoke, nuts and bready yeast. Long finish that’s in balance. If I had to be picky there is a little alcohol heat and sweetness, but at 14.5% I would be doing this wine a disservice.  A great wine.
